Let’s be honest, food is a part of everyone’s life.

Everywhere we go there is food. Every time we watch TV, there is food. Food is everywhere. And unfortunately, food took over my life. Being overweight all my life, I finally decided it was time to take the plunge and see a doctor that could help me with my “morbid obese” problem. Having not succeeded on my own weight loss programs such as the Atkins diet, Weight Watchers and other various ones I’ve tried, this was a real test for me.

Ultimately, I was very skeptical of this. My wife had several people at her work that were doing it and they all had great success with it. But me, a carbohydrate addict, I was still NOT excited to do it. However, I finally made my appointment with the doctor and the rest was history.

One of the things that helped me was to stay positive and to remember the three mantras that are a part of the diet. Not only do you really choose to eat the way you do, but you also need to choose to lose the weight. It quite honestly is a lifestyle change and you have to re-do your thinking. Yeah, it is very easy to say, but very difficult to do. It does take time, and may take more than one “round.”

I’ll be honest with you. The first round was very hard. I took a while to get used to. I cleaned out every cupboard that we had and gave all the food away. Starting fresh was the only way to help me succeed. My wife was very supportive along with my family so that made it a lot easier to accomplish. I started at a weight of 395 pounds and at the end of the round I was down to 344 pounds!

Some advice that I have for people that want to do the HCG diet:
1: Say the three mantras every day-even if you think you don’t need to, do it.
2: Don’t put yourself in situations where there will be food to tempt you. If you have to go somewhere, eat prior and just socialize.
3: Remember, you are choosing to eat healthy. You are choosing what you are putting in your body. It’s up to you to lose the weight-no one else. You have to be ready. And YOU CAN DO IT!

If I can do this diet and lose weight, anyone can. I will say, it’s not for everyone, but to be the most successful you have to WANT to do it. Encourage yourself and remember you can if you are able to and choose to.
